Siobhan Melia was appointed as Chief Executive of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust in September 2016. She was previously Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Partnerships and Commercial Development at the organisation. Siobhan has worked in the NHS since 1996 in a range of roles. She has a clinical background obtaining her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in podiatry from the University of Brighton and has fulfilled several different clinical leadership roles. Subsequently Siobhan undertook senior management and Board level roles at a large NHS community health provider in Berkshire. In 2012 she received her MBA (Health Executive) from Keele University. She joined Sussex Community in October 2013 from Telefonica UK, where she headed up their Telehealth division. As a former podiatrist and clinical leader Siobhan has a strong commitment to making a difference for the communities that rely on the NHS and is dedicated to the local delivery of joined up health and care services. Siobhan completed a nine-month secondment as Interim Chief Executive at South East Coast Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust in April 2023. Siobhan is passionate about lifelong learning and received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Brighton in July 2022 in recognition of her major contribution to healthcare services.
