Kevin is a qualified accountant with over 35 years’ experience working in healthcare, with 23 of those years being at executive level.

Kevin has recently taken up the post of Chief Executive for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals from 1st September 2021.

Prior to joining Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, Kevin held a range of roles including Joint Chief Executive of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS FT and East Lancashire Hospitals where the Trusts agreed to work in closer collaboration, the role was from 1 May 2019 to 20th September 2021. He was Chief Executive at both George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Heart of Birmingham Primary Care Trust.  He has also held a range of Director positions, including Director of Finance and Chief Operating Officer in large acute hospitals, and Director of Commissioning and Performance Management at a Teaching Primary Care Trust.

Kevin sits on the North West Leadership Academy Board and is a strong advocate of Compassionate Leadership.  Kevin also sits on the Senior Leadership Forum for Pennine Lancashire and Chairs the Lancashire and South Cumbria Chief Executives’ Provider Forum. Recently Kevin has become a member of the ACCEA and sits on the National Guardian’s Office Advisory Working Group.

Kevin received an Honorary Fellowship from UCLAN to acknowledge the significant contribution made to the development of the University’s School of Medicine through the instrumental strategic support he has provided to UCLan’s partnership with ELHT.

Kevin continues to lead the Hospital Cell for Lancashire & South Cumbria which has been working in collaboration with Trusts since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
